Albany Cancels Tulip Festival

The 2020 Albany Tulip Festival and all related events have been postponed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, officials announced.

The popular festival had been slated to run May 8 though May 10. The Tulip Queen contest will be held virtually, and a new Queen and court will be announced "at the appropriate time," according to City Hall.

No new dates for the festival have yet been announced.

Applications can be submitted through April 6 at AlbanyTulipQueen.com/nominate.

The City plans to find "creative ways to share our Tulips in bloom with you" via social media. Stay tuned.
