Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced today that the Capital Region can begin Phase I of the re-opening process after local officials identified and trained an "army" of trackers.
A sufficient number of trackers was one of the requirements the Cuomo administration laid out for regions in the state to meet before they could move forward with the phased in process of re-starting their respective economies after the near-total two-month lockdown imposed to curb the coronavirus infection curve.
More than 400 people have been identified as "trackers" - people who will be charged to tracing the paths of exposed once positive COVID-19 cases are identified in order to prevent another surge of infections after re-opening is underway.
A reminder of what businesses are included in Phase I:
Construction
Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting
Retail - (Limited to curbside or in-store pickup or drop off)
Manufacturing
Wholesale Trade
